The Belgian could be a key figure in a Wembley meeting with Southampton on Sunday, and will not be risked in top-flight action as a result. FIFA announced on Wednesday that Chelsea will not be able to sign players until 2020, although their initial appeal was partially upheld and they will now be permitted register players under the age of 16. Chelsea, though, continue to deny any wrongdoing after they were sanctioned in relation to 29 cases where regulations relating to the international transfer and registration of players under the age of 18 were breached....

Rafique, who made his professional debut for United SC in 2012, played two I-League seasons for the Kolkata outfit, featuring in 38 matches and scoring three goals. The school system announced in a statement that it will switch to a mask-optional policy in all schools. The move will allow families to make their own choices regarding mask-wearing, according to CPS CEO Pedro Martinez. “CPS was one of the first to require universal masking in schools, and we would not be moving to a mask-optional model unless the data and our public health experts indicated that it is safe for our school communities,” Martinez wrote in the statement....

The victim was identified in the police report, obtained by the Chicago Tribune, as 31-year-old Londre Sylvester—KTS Dre’s real name. The incident occurred at around 8:50 p.m. local time on Saturday, across the street from the Cook County Jail near the 2700 block of West 27th Street in Little Village. Sylvester was shot after he had “just been released from the jail, according to the police report. Sylvester had been fitted with an ankle monitor “as a condition of his bail” and was shot shortly afterward....

West Ham 11/5 to beat Everton The Mexican forward suffered a hamstring injury during El Tri’s 3-3 draw with Belgium earlier this month and has been held out of action since. While the 29-year-old doesn’t want to rush his return, he’s looking to get back on the field to help an ailing West Ham team. “Hopefully close. Hopefully this week I can get involved with the team, we’re going to see,” he told the club’s website....

Jones did not attend the team’s voluntary workouts at the beginning of May and is once again absent as the team starts to ramp up its offseason activities. Yahoo points out that Jones is entering the final year of his rookie contract and could be looking for an extension coming off of a year in which he led Kansas City with 15 1/2 sacks. The team could be considering putting the franchise tag on Jones after this season just like it did with Dee Ford after the 2018 year....

Kelce set a record for tight end receptions with 105 on 145 targets, beating his own mark from 2018, 103 on 150 targets. He also set the record for tight end receiving yards in a season with 1,416. That was the second-best total in the NFL in 2020, behind only Bills wide receiver Stefon Diggs’ 1,535 yards. Kelce also scored 11 TDs, which tied for him for fifth in the league with another tight end, the Packers’ Robert Tonyan....

Verrett ended Smith’s streak at 312 pass attempts without an interception, which is the second-longest streak in NFL history behind only Patriots quarterback Tom Brady (358). According to Football Insider, the Blues are willing to offer the two bright youngsters, as well as £25 million, to prize Gordon away from Goodison Park. Bakayoko can be Chelsea’s Vieira Antonio Conte targeted Bakayoko as their first choice option to strengthen their midfield and they are now expected to allow Nemanja Matic to leave to make room for the France international. Talks between Chelsea, Monaco and Bakayoko’s representatives have moved slowly since they first started but all parties ultimatley came to an agreement for the 22-year-old. Bakayoko returned from his holiday in New York to complete the final arrangements of the transfer, though a knee injury could rule him out of the Blues’s pre-season friendlies....
